How I Stay Healthy

A lot of factors play a role in staying healthy. In turn, good health can decrease your risk of developing certain conditions. These include heart disease, stroke, some cancers, and injuries. Learn what you can do to maintain your health. I am amazed by how many people I meet who are in poor health. Wander around in a crowd at an event or in a shopping mall and people just don’t look good. Worse, talk to people and listen to their long list of ailments. People are out of shape, weigh too much, and have little energy. In this blog I’m going to share with you how I stay healthy. 1) Eat properly Obesity is a huge issue in this country, pun intended.  Over two thirds of Americans are overweight and 36% are obese!  Further 32% of children and adolescents are overweight.  This is unbelievable.  As recently as a generation ago you would rarely see obese people.  For sure, some of this is hereditary.  But most of the issues are due to poor diet and …

50 Tonos

Today, I’m going to take you down a dark rabbit hole. Are you ready? I hope so. Have you ever thought of your deepest darkest fantasy? Or, maybe something you want to explore but are to afraid to ask for what you want? Sometimes, I’m sure you think that what you like or want is depraved or even off the wall crazy. Sometimes, you have to step back and do an overview of your wants and needs and then try to slowly introduce them. Have you ever thought of what it might be like to hear your partner say,”yes Master, no Master, or Permission to speak Master?” Or, if you’re a woman you’ve fantasized about being called Mistress. We all have our dark……you’re not alone. Most of you know the movie 50 Shades of Grey it is notable for its explicitly erotic scenes featuring elements of sexual practices involving bondage/discipline, dominance/submission, and sadism/masochism (BDSM). The tension between Ana and Christian eventually comes to a head after Ana asks Christian to punish her in order to …

2017 Turkey Day Outfits

Quick confession: I’ve been dreaming about turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce for awhile now. Thanksgiving is about kicking off the holiday season with family, friends and of course, delicious food. But whether you’re traveling or hosting the holiday at home, you’ll want to be cozy and warm for the big day. This outfit is not only stylish but unbelievably easy to style. Instead of playing it safe with your basic oversized sweater, try something with unusual proportions layered over distressed denim and striking heels or ankle boots. Pair with some eye-catching hoops and large clutch. No matter what your Thanksgiving plans are this year, the key to the perfect ensemble is pairing pieces that work together to form cute AND comfy outfits. No one wants to be fidgeting with too-tight pants as they collapse onto the couch to sleep off the Thanksgiving feast. But then again, sweatpants and tees aren’t exactly the most flattering option to sport at the holiday get together. Instead, consider wearing one of these cute and comfy outfits to feel good …

Boricua Hair & The Products We Love 🇵🇷💇🏻‍♀️💇🏼‍♀️💇🏽‍♀️🇵🇷

Hola y Bienvenido! Today, I want to share with you Boricua hair and the products we use. Because hair is so entwined with our perception of beauty, it is the most easily manipulatable element of our physical self—one that best helps manifest also our internal self. This is perhaps why such a simple thing like hair matters to discussions of one’s personal identity. It’s been a serious issue for some Puerto Rican women whose confidence has been affected by society’s ideas of beauty. It’s been a powerful tool for others whose love for their hair grew hand in hand with the love for themselves. Some women like it and some women hate their hair. And some learned to love their hair and found in that transformation a freedom worth sharing. I interviewed two good friends of mine Jess and Chrissy, who are Puerto Rican. We talked about hair, about their personal stories, about loving their hair and about loving themselves. Here are their stories…and mine will be last. I’m going to start by sharing Jess’s …

Wunderbrow Tutorial 101

Hola y Bienvenido! Today, I’m about to get up close and very personal something I don’t do much or should I say haven’t done much. I’m going to be showing you how to get the perfect brows by using Wunderbrow. I hope ya’ll enjoy this tutorial as much as I did making it for you. So, this is where I’m going to start lol. Remember when everyone wanted those ultra thin brows back in early 2000? Well, not so much anymore…. now everyone wants these thick lush sexy brows….or the natural thick brows we were all born with. Over the years of plucking and waxing sufficed to say as we get older our brows don’t grow as much anymore. If you know anything about me, it’s that I love a full brow, but I don’t like to actually do my brows….I mean seriously most of us are busy and don’t have the time. I’m sure, we’ve all seen the advertisements for Wunderbrow and like most of us we refuse to believe the hype so to …

My Daily 🚴🏻‍♀️Exercise 🧘🏻‍♀️Routine

Bienvenido! Today, I’d like to share with you my daily exercise routine. I feel that being healthy and staying fit is very important. Well, it’s important to me. Fitness means being able to perform physical activity. It also means having the energy and strength to feel as good as possible. Getting more fit, even a little bit, can improve your health. Exercise is about more than keeping in shape. It also can help with your emotional and mental health. Exercise can help you improve your self-esteem, keep your mind off problems, and give you a sense of control. In general, people who are fit have less anxiety, depression, and stress than people who are not active. Research suggests that exercise can help specific mental health problems. Exercise may help prevent depression from coming back (relapse) and improve symptoms of mild depression. Be safe while you exercise that is key! Moderate exercise is safe for most people, but it’s a good idea to talk with your doctor before increasing your activity. Anyone age 65 or older …
