2017 Turkey Day Outfits

Quick confession: I’ve been dreaming about turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce for awhile now. Thanksgiving is about kicking off the holiday season with family, friends and of course, delicious food. But whether you’re traveling or hosting the holiday at home, you’ll want to be cozy and warm for the big day. This outfit is not only stylish but unbelievably easy to style. Instead of playing it safe with your basic oversized sweater, try something with unusual proportions layered over distressed denim and striking heels or ankle boots. Pair with some eye-catching hoops and large clutch. No matter what your Thanksgiving plans are this year, the key to the perfect ensemble is pairing pieces that work together to form cute AND comfy outfits. No one wants to be fidgeting with too-tight pants as they collapse onto the couch to sleep off the Thanksgiving feast. But then again, sweatpants and tees aren’t exactly the most flattering option to sport at the holiday get together. Instead, consider wearing one of these cute and comfy outfits to feel good …

Who All Believes that Carrie Bradshaw Lied?

Carrie Bradshaw….where should I begin? She may be the consummate girl crush, but Carrie Bradshaw is also sort of the worst. Sometimes I think she’s full of shit, and sometimes I love her. And sometimes I don’t. Even though I reside in Texas, my love affair with the idea of New York City stems back to my adolescent years–I remember it all quite vividly. Friday nights my mom would tuck me into bed and kiss me goodnight in a hurry. I was confused. On Fridays, I was usually allowed to stay up late and watch TV until I fell asleep, but this time was different. She’d flip the TV to HBO and anxiously await the latest episode of Sex and the City like clockwork. Always in grown folks’ business, I never quite understood why I couldn’t stay up and watch TV with her like other nights. Clearly, whatever my mom was watching she didn’t want me to see. Even still, I’d put up a fuss to stay up late or make my way to the kitchen for juice so that …

Leopard Print: Fall’s Go-To Neutral

Leopard Print is the Fall Go-To Neutral. It literally can be paired with anything! So, what do you think about the Fall trend? We’re talking leopard print here, ladies.  I, honestly believe that Jackie O believed in the trend even before it became a trend! Now don’t think I’ve lost the plot (which clearly I have) but over the last couple of years that has been much chit chat in the fashion world about Leopard Print being the New Neutral. Animal print in fashion typically rouses strong emotion in people: they either love it or hate it. I happen to fall into the former category, especially if a great accessory is involved. Leopard print bags, shoes, belts, scarves–they all kick it up a notch. It being my rather classic, preppy, non-trendy wardrobe. I love leopard print, don’t get me wrong and I definitely wear it excessively and as often as I do wear neutral colors. I have taken to wearing it with stripes – one of my absolutely favorite combos, which a couple of years …
