State Fair of Texas • September 30 – October 23
OMGEE!! The State Fair of Texas is coming! The year has been whipping by us & it’s almost that time again! I’m super excited! Aren’t you? And, you know what that means right? Lots of food, fun, attractions, games, livestock & rides. Oh, & before I forget to mention there are 24 days with over 75 concerts to attend while @ the Fair. There’s so much to do & not enough time to do everything…unless you’re one of those who can afford to go every day.
It doesn’t matter if you’re a first-timer or a long-timer, one of the new State Fair guided itineraries presented by Dallas Child will help you make the most of your visit to the annual exposition. Choose one of four adventures for your visit: Animal Encounters, Arts & Entertainment, After 5 p.m., or Foodie.
If, you love football…. And, who doesn’t love football; you should make sure to attend the Texas vs OU College football game. Even, if you can’t attend the game itself you should @ least attend on that open fair day.
AT&T Red River Showdown – University of Texas v. University of Oklahoma
Saturday, October 8, 2016 – Kickoff: TBD
More than 100,000 people travel to the State Fair for the AT&T Red River Showdown game between the Texas Longhorns and the Oklahoma Sooners. The game, played in Cotton Bowl Stadium since 1929, is an iconic staple of the State Fair.
Game tickets are purchased through each university’s athletic office. A ticket to the 2016 Red River Showdown includes admission to the State Fair of Texas on game day – Saturday, October 8, 2016.
